2Internet connection (WAN)
The router supports two connection types: automatic (DHCP) and PPPoE.
Plug the cable from your modem into the router's WAN port.
Choose this if your provider gave you a username and password.
Set up PPPoE
- During setup, switch on My ISP requires PPPoE.
- Enter the username and password from your provider exactly.
- Tap Connect. The app checks the connection.
To fix wrong details later, use Update PPPoE credentials on the connection check.
3WiFi
- Name and password
- Printed on the router label:
KAHF-plus 4 characters, and an 8-character password - Bands
- 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz, with the same name on both
- Security
- WPA2
- Country and time zone
- Bangladesh, Asia/Dhaka. Only the app can change the country, after you confirm.
The app doesn't change the main WiFi name or password.
Guest WiFi Premium
Settings → Guest Access creates a separate network for visitors, with its own password.
- Duration
- 4 hours, 1 day, 3 days or never
- Zone
- Safe Zone, or LAN only with no internet
Share the password from the app. Tap Remove to end it.
4Zones and devices
Every control in this guide applies here.
Only basic malware and adult-content DNS protection stays.
Change a device's zone
- Open Devices.
- Pick the device.
- Choose the zone you want.
A device that uses only IPv6 can't be moved this way.
Block Internet Now Premium
Cuts one device off the internet at once. It can still reach the router and the app.
5Content protection
Content blocklist
Categories are blocked for every Safe Zone device. Turn off any you don't want. Some are always on.
Blocked websites
Tap + Add a website. Subdomains (*.domain.com) are covered. This does not block that service's phone app.
Allowed websites
Trusted sites that override category blocks and your block list. A few sites can still stay blocked by the safe DNS service.
SafeSearch
Works on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo and YouTube.
YouTube Restricted
Keeps YouTube's Restricted Mode on.
VPN & Torrent blocking
Stops VPN, Tor and proxy tunnels. Turning it off lets Safe Zone devices get around every filter, so keep it on.
Ad & Tracker blocking Premium
Works at the DNS level, with nothing to install in the browser. Some in-app ads may still appear.
Safe DNS
Family-safe DNS that is always on for the whole network.
6Time controls
Bedtime
Turns off internet for the Safe Zone every night. The free plan has one "Every Day" schedule. Premium adds separate weekday and weekend times, and custom days.
Offtime
One tap turns off internet for the whole Safe Zone until you turn it back on. kahf.co and kahfguard.com stay reachable so the app keeps working.
App Time Rules
Pick apps or categories, then set Blocked hours or a Daily limit.
- Social & Chat
- Games
- Video & Streaming
- Shopping
- Downloads & Cloud
Three tips for App Time Rules
- A period can't cross midnight. For 11 PM to 6 AM, split it into 11 PM to 12 AM and 12 AM to 6 AM.
- All apps in one group share a single limit.
- Save before you leave the screen.
7Security settings
- Parent PIN
- 6 digits. Change it under Settings → Account.
- Recovery code
- Shown once at setup; you can view it again after unlocking with your PIN. Write it down.
- Root password
- Settings → Router → Change root password. The app stores it encrypted with your Kahf ID. If you lose access, see Reset.
- Kahf ID
- Needed for settings backup and Premium.
8Firmware, backup and notifications
Firmware / Status
Shows your version, Check for updates and the changelog. An update restarts the router and pauses app control for about 2 minutes. The router also installs verified updates by itself every night.
Back up config to Kahf ID
Saves your settings and shows the time of the last backup.
Notifications
Turn push notifications on or off and set Quiet Hours. Needs a Kahf ID and a paired router.
9Reset
The router returns to factory settings, and the WiFi name and password go back to the label values. Then open the app and set it up again. This is also how to move the router to a different Kahf ID.
